More Tips For Making And Achieving Goals
In addition to using these goal setting worksheets, there are a few other things you can do to help your kids (and yourself) become goal-setting experts.

Here are some of our favorite tips:
- Set an example. If you want your kids to learn how to set goals, it’s important that you model this behavior for them. Make sure you’re setting goals for yourself and working towards them in a visible way.
This doesn’t mean you need to tell your kids every detail of your goals and progress. But it does mean that you should be working on something that’s important to you and sharing your excitement about it with them from time to time. - Help them get started. encourage your kids to start small. If they’re struggling to come up with a goal, offer some suggestions to get them thinking.
For example, if they want to improve their grades, suggest that they start by setting a goal to get all A’s on their next report card or to raise their GPA by 0.5 points. - Make it fun. Set up a reward system and every week, those who moved forward in their goals can receive a prize of some kind!
This will keep the kids feeling good about themselves and their goals, even of the final goal still seems far off.
