What Is A Homeschool Blog?
A homeschool blog is a website written by someone who homeschools their children. These blogs typically offer advice, support, and resources for other homeschooling families. In some cases, the author may also sell products or services related to homeschooling.
Most homeschool blogs are run by experienced homeschoolers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others. As such, these blogs can be a valuable resource for families who are considering homeschooling, or who are new to the homeschooling community.
In addition to offering advice and support, many homeschool blogs also provide educational resources, such as printables, unit studies, and lesson plans. These resources can be extremely helpful for homeschooling families, as they can provide structure and direction to an otherwise unstructured educational experience.
Finally, homeschool blogs can also be a great way to connect with other homeschooling families. Many bloggers host link-ups or carnivals, which provide an opportunity for readers to share their own blog posts and resources. These link-ups can be a great way to find new homeschooling blogs to follow, as well as to connect with other families who share your interests.
Now that you know a bit more about homeschool blogs, let’s take a look at some of the best ones out there!
Types of Homeschooling Blogs
There are so many different types of homeschooling blogs on the internet! The ones you want to follow will be determined by your lifestyle and worldview.
Here are some of the most popular styles of homeschooling blogs:

- Christian Homeschool Blogs
- Secular Homeschool Blogs
- Blogs with Free Printables
- Blogs with Curriculum Reviews
- Blogs Based on Homeschooling Method
- Blogs Based On Age Range
- Blogs Focused On A Specific Subject
- Homeschooling Family Vlogs
- Blogs with a Focus on Homeschooling Co-ops and Support Groups
Spend some time searching for your own favorite homeschool blogs. And when you find a blog you really relate to, make sure you subscribe so you can find that fun little gem again!
A Good Homeschool Blog Is Relateable
There are SO MANY moms who blog about their homeschooling journey out there. SO many in fact that finding some that are relatable shouldn’t be a hard thing.
But what’s so important about a blog that is relatable?
If you have one kid, what support are you going to find from a blog that talks about raising 7 kids and the large homeschool family life? Maybe a little, but not as much as you could.

If you are trying to provide a special needs child with a home education, a good homeschooling blog for you would be one that specializes in tips and educational resources for a special needs homeschool.
If you hate reading blog posts and would rather follow a homeschool mom podcast, then that’s what you should seek out!
Or if you have chosen to follow the Montessori or Charlotte Mason Homeschooling Methods but spend your time reading blogs that talk about roadschooling, what support is that going to offer you? (except, perhaps, the entertainment factor – roadschooling is so fascinating!)

We all know homeschooling is hard.
The best way to get through a hard thing is to have some people in your corner who support and encourage you.
But some homeschooling families are not lucky enough to have family and friends who support their homeschooling choices.
A good homeschool blog will offer posts and articles that support and encourage you on your homeschooling journey, no matter what that journey looks like.
What Do The Best Homeschool Blogs Offer?
Some blog posts are fun and entertaining. I LOVE reading a good, fun blog post.
But in addition to being entertaining, the best reason to follow a homeschool blog should be because it offers something of value to you!
And yes, support and encouragement are definitely valuable, but that’s not just what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about real educational resources.
- Printables (including but not limited to free printables) that you can use in your home education efforts.
- Lesson plan ideas and resources. Oh and unit studies! Unit studies are also a great resource.
- Homeschool curriculum reviews so you know exactly what you’re getting into before you drop a lot of money.
- Sales and coupons for homeschooling tools.
- Suggestions and links for free homeschool deals that are quality and worthwhile.
- Tips and instructions for making your own homeschool creations
- And last but not least, homeschooling tips that are unique to your situation. Your very own personalized guide for your DIY homeschooling journey.
Whether you’re looking for support and encouragement, or a great spot to fulfill your curriculum needs, or maybe just some fantastic parenting and teaching tips, make sure the blogs you follow offer value.

Great list. I look forward to checking this out. We are unexpectedly new to Homeschooling this year. I am calling it City Schooling. I am also blogging about it on our FIRE (financial independence retire early) blog ... I just retired (early) from public school education (art education).
