What Are Mad Libs?
Have you ever asked yourself, “What are Mad Libs“?
For anyone who hasn’t come across them before, Mad Libs are a lot of fun. They’re basically fill-in-the-blank stories, where each blank is filled in with a word or phrase. The catch is that the person filling in the blanks doesn’t know what the story is about, so the results can be pretty hilarious.
For example, you might end up with a story about a chicken crossing the road to get to the other side of the moon!
Mad Libs are great for parties and road trip entertainment, and they’re also a great way to learn about parts of speech. So if you’ve never tried them before, definitely give them a go!
Now to be fair, the holiday Mad Libs printables below are not officially Mad Libs printables. Mad Libs is a copyrighted term that I do not have rights to. However, these Fill in the Blank Copywork Pages are inspired by Mad Libs and will give your kids the same laughter, giggles, and parts of speech practice as the original Mad Libs games do.
Or you can download these free fill in the blank copywork pages, which were inspired by Mad Libs and created just for you.
So enjoy and happy learning!

Can you use Mad Libs to teach kids about the holidays? The short answer is yes, of course! Depending on the specific Mad Lib you are working with, some of these activity pages can be extremely educational.
Mad Libs are a great way to introduce new words and concepts, and they’re also a lot of fun. By playing Mad Libs, kids can learn about different holiday traditions and customs. Plus, they’ll get to use their imaginations and come up with silly stories.
If you’re looking at to how to make your own Mad Libs, you can bring in any kind of learning! For example, you could write a story about your family’s holiday dinner, complete with all the fixings.
Turn a traditional holiday carol into a Mad Libs that helps your kids learn the words to the song. Or you could create a silly poem about the history of Old Saint Nick or even where the first Christmas Tree came from.
