In many countries, St. Patrick’s Day has become a huge event where people come together to have fun and celebrate Irish culture and history.

But St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just about celebrating Irish culture. It has become a day where people of all different backgrounds come together to have fun and celebrate diversity. This makes St. Patrick’s Day an excellent opportunity for children to learn more about the world around them and their place in it, as well as learn about traditions from other cultures.

Leprechauns, rainbows, and pots of gold are very popular symbols associated with St. Patrick’s Day. It is believed that if you find a pot of gold, it will have enough money in it to last you for the rest of your life! So the next time you’re looking around your house for some loose change, you might want to keep an eye out for a pot of gold. But remember – it’s likely to be at the end of a rainbow!

Who Was Saint Patrick?

According to history.com, Saint Patrick was not Irish. He was born in Roman Britain, around 385 AD.

He was kidnapped by Irish raiders when he was just sixteen years old and taken to Ireland as a slave. For six years, he worked as a shepherd in the northern part of the country.

During his captivity, he was very lonely and turned to Christianity for solace. He eventually escaped and made it home, only to return to Ireland with the intent of converting the Irish people.

Why Include STEM Activities In Your St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. When speaking of STEAM, the A stands for art. These disciplines are now considered to be essential skills needed for students to be successful in their future careers.

STEM activities are very hands-on and give students the opportunity to engage with real-world issues. This approach helps develop their problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, communication skills, decision-making capabilities, and more. Many schools have already started implementing STEM programs into the curriculum of their students. And lately, there has been even more emphasis on including science & technology activities during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
