When Should My Child Move Onto 2 Digit by 2 Digit Multiplication Problems?
Most kids will be ready to move on to 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication problems sometime between 4th and 5th grade. However, this will vary from child to child. Some kids may be ready sooner and some may need a little more time with 1 digit by 1 digit multiplication or 1 digit by 2 digit multiplication before moving on.
If you’re not sure if your child is ready to tackle 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication, then a good way to gauge their readiness is to have them try one of the coloring sheets. If they’re able to complete it without too much difficulty, then they’re probably ready to move on.

How To Use The Free 2 Digit by 2 Digit Multiplication Coloring Pages?
It’s so easy to include these free multiplication coloring pages in your child’s math lessons!
First, give your child one of the blank worksheets. Each worksheet contains a mystery picture that your child must uncover and decode by solving the 2 digit multiplication math problems.
Your child can choose to write the answer to each math problem inside the shapes with a pencil or your child can go straight to coloring using the key below to determine the color to be used.
Do the multiplication problems, get an answer, look for the answer in the key, and color that space the appropriate color.
Continue until each space has an answer and a color! When students answer correctly, the mystery pictures will be unveiled. Easy peasy! And of course, it’s definitely a fun way to get some multiplication practice in.
