I have a lot of free Mad Libs printables available throughout my site. However, it occurred to me this morning that I do not have any Mother’s Day-themed Mad Libs. With Mother’s Day just round the corner, I decided to remedy that with some free Mother’s Day Mad Libs printables.

What Are Mad Libs?
Now to be fair, these are not official Mad Libs printables. Mad Libs is a copyrighted resource owned by THE PENGUIN GROUP and I am not them. Instead, these are Mad Libs-inspired printables, officially called Fill in the Blank Copywork Pages. They are almost exactly the same thing though.
You get a short story with a bunch of blank spots to fill in things like nouns, adjectives, verbs, and so on. You fill out the blank spots before reading the whole story so the context is completely unknown. When you’re done filling in all the blanks, you’ve got yourself a super funny and completely random short story!
Mad Libs are great for learning parts of speech and practicing storytelling and imaginative thinking. They are a great addition to any language arts curriculum.
Official Mad Libs resources can be purchased at places like Amazon or local bookstores. Or you can print out free Mad Libs-inspired printables, such as these Fill in the Blank Copywork Pages, online.
