A multiplication drill is simply a way for students to practice their multiplication skills. This can be done in a variety of ways, but usually involves some sort of timed exercise.
When you were in school, did you ever use multiplication timed test printable 0-12 worksheets? This is essentially that – a multiplication timed test!
For example, a child might be given one minute to see how many multiplication problems they can solve correctly.
Oftentimes, these timed drills are used as a way to help kids prepare for standardized tests.
While timed multiplication drills can be helpful in preparing for these types of tests, they are also beneficial for everyday learning.
Why Use Multiplication Drill Worksheets?
Now that we know what multiplication drills are, let’s discuss why using drill worksheets or multiplication timed test printable worksheets can be advantageous for your child.
One reason to use multiplication drill worksheets is that they help kids to practice multiplication in a fun and engaging way.
When multiplication is presented as a game or a challenge, children are more likely to be interested in learning and practicing the skill. After all – who doesn’t love competing against themselves and beating their own best time?

One of my favorite places to search for multiplication worksheets is on various homeschool blogs or educational websites. These are oftentimes free, but not always.
Amazon is a great place to find entire workbooks filled with daily drill practice sheets so if you prefer to have a year’s worth of worksheets all in one convenient spot, I would recommend Amazon (or perhaps your local book store).
Another option is to create your own multiplication daily drill worksheets at home. This can be done easily using a word processing or spreadsheet program.
Alternatively, you could use Canva.com (a free graphic design program that I use almost every day) to make customized worksheets for your kiddos. They even have a few free templates you can easily edit up!
Wherever you grab your drill sheets from, as long as you give your kids plenty of daily, grade-appropriate practice, you really can’t go wrong.
