It’s one thing to read about them or watch YouTube videos about them, but taking the time to put together their own thoughts about Dr. King and organize them in writing can really make an impact.

We’ve crafted these MLK writing prompts to help students meaningfully reflect on Dr. King’s life and legacy. The prompts assist students in connecting to his life and work and to think about how it affects modern day life. Through their analysis, students should be able to think about how far we have progressed, as well as what can be done to further MLK’s dream of equality.
