Being one of the most recognizable presidents, it’s no wonder that teaching about Abraham Lincoln is a staple in any elementary curriculum. As president during one of the most trying times in our nation’s history, Lincoln secured his spot in history by ending slavery and subsequently heal before his assassination.

Abraham Lincoln is perhaps the most famous president of all time. From his humble beginnings in a one-room cabin in Kentucky to his rise as the 16th president of the United States, Lincoln left an indelible mark on American history.

He’s remembered for his integrity and leadership, not to mention his never-ending dedication to justice. Additionally, he was a masterful orator who used his speeches (“Four score and seven years ago…”) to unify and inspire the nation during one of its darkest hours – the Civil War.
