The Best Multiplication Songs for Kids

For many kids, memorizing multiplication facts through multiplication songs is a highly effective method. However, it can be difficult to find good multiplication songs that aren’t annoying.

That’s why I’ve rounded what I believe to be the best songs for learning and memorizing times tables on the internet.

Some of these song options are paid and can be accessed places like The Apple Store or Amazon. However, most of these song options are absolutely free and can be found on YouTube.

These songs are ideally for 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. However, 4th and 5th grade students will still benefit from them as well. In fact, my husband has said how much he’s learned just by listening to these skip counting songs and watching the multiplication music videos.

The Best Paid Multiplication Songs

If you don’t want to spend all of your time on YouTube skipping adds and restarting your playlist, you might find it more convenient to purchase some multiplication songs.

I have found a few good options that aren’t obnoxious and that are actually worth the money.

Skip Count Kid

First, we’ve got the Skip Count Kid multiplication songs. This is the album I grew up with (back when it was a cassette tape). I LOVE these songs. They are catchy, tons of fun, and absolutely not obnoxious. These songs are the reason I can do all the multiplication tables in my head.

I absolutely recommend these songs for anybody looking to learn times tables through music. There are a few free Skip Count Kid songs on YouTube if you prefer to access them for free, but not every times table is available on YouTube so if you want the whole collection, this album on Amazon is the way to go.

Multiplication: It’s Time to Times

Multiplication: It’s Time to Times is another fun album collection of times table songs. These math songs were written by a homeschool mom who wanted to help her own kids with memorization, and then she decided to share them with the world.

This album takes your kids through the basic times tables with some fun and catchy music. Your kids are sure to love these songs!

The Best Free Multiplication Songs

Many people prefer to use free teaching resources, and that’s where YouTube comes in handy. If you don’t mind the occasional add, YouTube is a great learning resource, including for teaching multiplication tables with songs and music videos.

Skip Count Kid

First, I’m sharing my favorite YouTube multiplication music channel. It has a bunch of the free Skip Count Kid songs that are available online. Not every table is included, but there are at least a few. These skip counting songs, or math songs, are sure to get your kids started on the right foot.

McCarthy Math Academy

If I didn’t have access to the Skip Count Kid songs, these McCarthy Math Academy multiplication songs would be my music videos of choice.

These songs are incredibly catchy and fun to both sing and dance along to. They are put to popular songs and are easy to predict and sing along to from an early stage. There are also some fun visual aids that will aid in memorization.

All the multiplication tables are smooshed together in one long video so you also have the benefit of not needing to gather and keep track of a million music videos.

Math Songs by NUMBEROCK

Math Songs by NUMBEROCK has a few times table songs. They are not annoying to listen to and I could see these playing in the background for several days at a time. There are also some numeric visuals in this music video which adds another teaching style into the mix.

These math songs are more like multiplication rap songs but if you’re into that kind of thing, they’re a decent option. Unfortunately, I could only find 6, 7, 8, and 9 so it’s not a complete set. However, those tend to be the most difficult facts to memorize anyway so that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Kids Learning Tube

Kids Learning Tube actually has their own platform dedicated to teaching kids and these times table songs music videos are just one of the fun options. These songs are fun to listen to and decently easy to sing along to.

They do get a little redundant after a few times of listening to them but maybe that’s a good thing? Just don’t plan on listening to these on repeat for days on end. Instead, stick to once or twice a day.

Rock ‘N Learn

Rock ‘N Learn has some really fun multiplication rap songs that are very popular amongst homeschooling parents as well as public school teachers. If you’re okay with rap, these are tons of fun and very very catchy. And not even annoying!

There are even some pretty cool animations being used in this music video, making it more like a fun educational movie than a times table song resource.

Silly School Songs

Silly School Songs has a compilation of times table facts songs that are only mildly obnoxious. I don’t find them to be all that catchy or unique so I don’t play them in my own house, but judging by the 15k likes on this playlist, many families apparently love these songs.

They’re free so you might as well give them a try. The worst that happens is you move onto another list quickly but the best that could happen is your kids memorize their basic math facts while having a little bit of fun!
