Are you looking for a way to keep track of what your homeschoolers need to work on every day? Are you trying to foster independence in your child’s homeschool day? If so, you are going to love this free printable school subject checklist for homeschoolers.
We use checklists like this as a way to easily manage our large family homeschool. Every week, I edit the checklist to include projects and activities I want my kids to work on for that week. I change the days each activity needs to be worked on or completed.
Then I print the checklist off and tape it to the wall.
Every morning when the kids are done with their daily chores, they go to their school time checklist and work on everything that needs to be done that day.
As they finish a project, they color in the corresponding day of the week circle and then move on to other subjects and activities.
I am able to customize what I need them to get done every week, and they are able to work on all of their school work without any nagging from me! It’s a win-win!
This checklist has been a wonderful blessing in our home and we are all grateful for this simple homeschool resource. It makes it easy to foster independence in my children without having to follow them around and make sure they’re getting things done.
Then when the checklist is complete for the day, they each earn their daily allotted screen time. Easy peasy!

What Is The School Subject Checklist?
Here is what my school subject checklist looks like.

I have a copy for each of my kids, ranging in ages from 4 – 12. They all have age-appropriate activities on them that my kids can complete on their own.
As you can see, we don’t do everything every single day. And after a few weeks, we will delete one or two things from the list completely and add in something else.
Or during the holiday season when we’re doing less school, I’ll probably whittle it down to include holiday activities rather than traditional schooling activities.
Holiday arts and crafts, service projects, baking adventures, that kind of thing. We might even compare and contrast various holiday movies!
I love this checklist because it keeps us organized and on task while still allowing for plenty of flexibility. And I hope you love this checklist too!
How To Access Your Free Printable School Subject Checklist For Homeschoolers
Would you like a free copy of this printable school subject checklist to use in your homeschool? Great!
I’ve got a few options for you.
Normally I send my readers printable PDF files that they can print and use again and again. But since this file is best enjoyed as an editable file, this makes things a little trickier.
I’m not sure what the easiest way to send you an editable file would be so I’m trying a few options while I learn. Eventually, I’ll settle on a winning method that’s easy for everybody, but this is what I’m doing for now.
If you have any suggestions as to how to make sending an editable file easy, I would love to hear your thoughts! Or if you have a vote as to which of these two methods was easiest for you, by all means, let me know! You can share in the comments section below or email me at charlene@hessunacademy.com.
And now, the two current options.
School Subject Checklist Download Method 1
Click here to sign up for a blank downloadable PDF version of this school time checklist for homeschoolers. I will send you a blank copy to the email address you fill out.
After that, go to pdffiller.com and upload your document. Use the text button to add your text wherever you want. Add your child’s name to the top and fill in the subjects you want your child to complete.
When you’re done, just save and print!
I’m not sure how long this method will work. It seems to be free but since there is a button for a free trial and a button to sign up, I don’t know how long it is free for or how long you will be able to use this method without paying.
Please keep me posted. I don’t want you to have to pay to edit these files.
School Subject Checklist Download Method 2
For this method, I will be sending you an editable Canva file.
Canva is a free online digital design platform that I use for most of my resources. They do have a paid option (which I pay for) but you can certainly use the free option for years and years and never really miss out on much.
Once you receive your access link, click to download your template. You will probably need to open a free Canva account to do this.
Once you have your template, just edit as needed! Change the colors, fill in your child’s name and the subjects they need to complete. You can even delete certain days of the week so your child only needs to do some subjects on specific days.
The choice is yours!
When you’re done, save your Canva file so you can edit it again next week. Then download and print your new PDF.
With this method, I must stress the fact that the file and template link are for your own personal use only. You may not share the file or the Canva template link with anybody else. You are agreeing to these terms when you use the link. So please be honest and keep it to yourself 🙂
And there you have it! Your very own school subject checklist. I hope this checklist makes your homeschool days easier and a lot more fun for everybody!
