When you ask yourself how to teach multiplication, you might naturally begin a search for multiplication worksheets for grade 3.
3rd grade is typically the time kids begin learning how to multiply which makes worksheets for this age group incredibly important.
You want multiplication worksheets for 3rd graders that are not only fun and engaging but also simple and effective. You don’t want to overwhelm your student with multiplication problems that are too beyond their level.
At the same time, you don’t want worksheets that are too simple for your students either.
For example, if your child has already mastered multiplication memorization of the 1 and 2 times tables, you don’t want to give worksheets that only include these multiplication facts. Rather, you want to share worksheets that move onto 3, 4, and 5 times tables.
You’ll know you have found the right multiplication worksheets for your 3rd grader when your child feels challenged but not frustrated. They should put forth some effort but still be able to finish all the problems in a reasonable amount of time.

Fun Multiplication Worksheets for Grade 3
One way to keep kids interested in worksheets is by making sure the worksheets you are providing your kids are not only educational but also fun!
What makes a worksheet fun? Well, that depends on your child’s learning style and personality. But for many kids, multiplication color by number worksheets are plenty of fun.
I have created a bundle of multiplication worksheets for grade 3 (at the bottom of this article) and inside that bundle, I have included 3 fun multiplication worksheets for 3rd graders that feature color by code pictures.
Your students will need to complete the multiplication problems correctly in order to determine what color to fill in each space. When the worksheets are completed, you will have a beautiful (and very colorful) picture!

Multiplication Worksheets for Grade 3 – 2 Digits

Challenge your 3rd grade student to complete multiplication problems such as 12 x 2, 14 x 6, 80 x 3, and even 68 x 10.
These problems are designed to be a little bit more challenging for your students so wait until they have the basic concept of multiplication down before handing them this page (that’s what the other 6 pages in the bundle are for). But once you feel they are ready, this is a great worksheet to keep the learning going!

How To Use The 3rd Grade Multiplication Worksheets
Once you’ve grabbed the 3rd grade worksheets, you’re going to want to know how to use them!
The good news is this is the easy part.
- Daily math lessons – Include these worksheets as part of your child’s daily math lessons.
- Break from the mundane – Hand your students a fun worksheets (one of the coloring ones) when they need a break from the regular mundane that is school but you don’t want to just turn on another screen.
- Rainy day activity – If your child really likes to color, the multiplication coloring worksheets inside the bundle would provide a great rainy day activity.
- Race against the clock – There are a few worksheets inside the bundle that are perfectly designed to be used as part of a times table race. Set the timer and see how fast your kids can finish the worksheet. Then the following day, see if they can beat their previous time!
- Race against each other – for some friendly competition, see which of your kids can finish the grade 3 worksheets first.
